Andrea Durkee, LPC
Andrea Durkee is a licensed professional counselor. I really enjoy working with adults, families, and especially children. I have experience in helping individuals with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, divorce, child behavior issues, ADHD, mild autism, separation anxiety, OCD, school issues and social skill issues, among others.

I like to build rapport and trust with each person I see. I assess the needs and the unique personality and strengths of each individual. I am able to draw on my years of experience working in community mental health, a family residential program, and as a school counselor. Working in a school gives me insight into how a child’s symptoms can impact their school life and the kinds of interventions that can help.

My approach is client-centered therapy, which can include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, play therapy, psychoeducation, and others. I also use art, games, and books with children to provide guided experiential learning. Whatever issue brings a person to counseling, my goal is to provide a caring and helpful experience.
