LMSW
(In-Person or Online) Works primarily with: Young Children, and Families

Kelsey Dowty is a licensed master social worker with over 15 years of experience supporting children, families, and adults navigating stress, trauma, and life transitions. While she has extensive training in early childhood and attachment, her work more broadly focuses on helping people who feel overwhelmed, burned out, or stretched too thin in their daily lives.

Kelsey is an endorsed Infant Mental Health Specialist and is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Her approach is grounded in understanding how early experiences and relationships shape current patterns (whether in childhood or carried into adulthood), while helping clients create meaningful, sustainable change in the present.

Kelsey has worked with young children experiencing developmental delays, trauma, loss, and attachment disruptions, including those in foster care or adoptive families. She also works with adults navigating similar themes in different forms- especially those who are processing early relational wounds, managing chronic stress, trauma, burnout, or ongoing health challenges, or who have spent much of their lives caring for others (whether it be family, others, or animals).

Kelsey has completed additional training in ecotherapy and incorporates nature-based and animal-assisted elements into her work when appropriate, recognizing the role that connection to the natural world and living beings can play in nervous system regulation and emotional well-being. She is the founder of a pigeon sanctuary and is often inspired by her pet pigeon, Bobber, and his flock of resilient pigeon friends, who have a remarkable way of igniting hope in those who feel close to giving up. Bobber and his feathered friends sometimes make their way into therapy, as they enjoy sharing their life stories of connection and care after trauma and loss.

Kelsey believes healing happens through safe, attuned relationships. She is here to help you move toward a life that feels more manageable, meaningful, and aligned with who you are.

While Kelsey works with a range of concerns listed below, her work is especially focused on supporting individuals navigating early relational wounds, chronic stress, burnout, and the lasting impact of experiences from childhood. She often works with both young children and adults who are processing similar themes at different stages of life.
